GINGER SNAPS

April 23rd 2009 03:19
OMG hey fellow cinema dimers, i havent done a post in AGES. but i am back in actioin and i am bringing to you GINGER SNAPS, It is about 16 year old Ginger (GINGE) (Katherine Issabelle), and Bridgette (B) (Emily Perkins). the two sisters are obsessed with death. The film is set in Canada. The first movie did well. so both Ginger snaps Unleashed, and Ginger snaps: The beginning, came out in 2004. but both did not recieve great reviews so was sent straight to video.

I personally am obsessed with the movies, One, because its about werewolves/lycanthropes and i LOVE werewolves . two. Surprisingly enough, its not like a normal werewolf movie. the movie goes through the stages of turning to a werewolf, and how the sisters are handling, and the movie was praised because of the way it incorporated PUBERTY into the change to the werewolf.

Both the main actors were quite good. Katherine was loved because of her good looks and the change to become a werewolf, and Emily because of her fantastic acting and quirky, weird way of keeping to herself.

the sisters, say a number of times in the movie "Together Forever". The two words, are used in all three films at different times, when one is turning into a werewolf, and even if there struggling.

In the end of Ginger snaps, Ginger has been turned into a werewolf, Bridgette found a cure, but was not able to use it, unless she sacraficed her own life.

The movie ends, with Ginger-wolf breathing heavily and bridgette kaying on top of it.. As ginger wolf is about to die, the breathing gets faster and suddenly stops, and you see a tear from Bridgette running down her face........

this movie is a must see. IT IS NOT a normal werewolf movie, it is fantastic, i will soon do a review on Ginger Snaps Unleashed, AND Ginger snaps Beginning.

Hi A.S,

I really enjoyed the first film the trilogy after that it offered no refreshing ideas. I really liked the comedy that seeps through inventive reimaginings of cliche and ingenious use of menstrual cycles in the original.
