Dirty dancing Havana Nights
April 25th 2008 01:24
Me and my sister went to the video store last night and picked up the movie Dirty Dancing Havana nights, i got to tell you DONT SEE IT. Some of you may like it but in my opinion, the dancing was slow, and it was SOOOOO predictable i mean they meet, they get to know each other, they dance, they kiss, and then they have sex OF COURSE, the first Dirty Dancing was a bit like this but actually had good dncing and good looking people.
The movie is about a girl named Katie Millar who moved to Havana, Cuba from the United States with her family in 1958. She is shy and dull but when she goes to a nightclub its like her whole life turns upside down, she meets a boy named javier Suarez a waiter and a so called talented night club dancer. So after a boring and predictable 30 minutes they decide to enter the national dance competition so they do a salsa routine oh and by the way her parents are meant to professional ballroom dancers so they get her to do ballroom and javier is a cuban dirty dancer, another 20 minutes later they do the competition and make to the finals (i dont know why). they showed the other finalists dance and they were fantastic with flips and really fast movements and then when Katie and Jvier go on it is slow and you loose interests they do the same thing over and over.
The film was directed by Guy Ferland This film is a "re-imagining" of the 1987 movie Dirty Dancing, it uses the same plot, but changing it from upstate New York to Cuba on the cusp of the revolution.
In my opinion i think the movie not good at all and it would give a two out of 5, but depending on you emotions, feelings etc you may like it
